WELCOME TO L.L. LEE'S NEW BLOG

A BLOG THAT DISCUSSES L.L. LEE'S BOOKS. ALL OF THE NOVELS HAVE STRONG FEMALE CHARACTERS. SOME OF THE BOOKS SUCH AS THOSE IN THE SISTERS SERIES ARE HUMOROUS. OTHERS, LIKE JUDE'S BENCH OR A BENCH ON THE BEACH ARE MORE SERIOUS. AND IN SENIOR CAMP 2035, THE WOMEN PROTAGONISTS FACE HORROR WITH BRAVERY AND DETERMINATION IN DIRE CIRCUMSTANCES.

OH WHAT A CHRISTMAS

Been hearing those words a lot these days. What a Christmas to have the blues. I am trying to be positive. The house is beautifully decorated and I am excited to be sharing the holidays with my "new" family. But oh, how I miss the old one. I know how hard it is for those of us to celebrate the holidays with joy, especially if the one we lost was the source of that joy. And so as I type the words, The End, to the first draft of my new book, "A Good Catch," I know that I will dedicate this book to my husband, Mike, who died 8 years ago. His birthday was on Christmas Day and he died a couple of weeks before that. One of my books, Jude's Bench, is a fictional account of my life with Mike. A non-fiction version, A Bench On The Beach is available as an ebook on Kindle. And if you want to be cheered up, read one of my books in the Sisters Series. I promise it'll make you laugh, at least make you smile.
Merry Christmas. Happy holidays.

Eight Years Ago I Lost My Mike

Today is the day my husband of forty years passed away. After all this time, I still feel as if it just happened. Although the pain is not so acute, it never goes away. I loved him and still do. I miss him and always will.
There is another man in my life and so, yes, life does go on. For those of you who have had recent losses and partings, know that you will have a life, one that you must choose to live without him or her. I wrote a book called Jude's Bench. A novel, part fiction and part non-fiction that deals with the loss of Mike. Later I rewrote that book in eBook form that is on Kindle in a non-fiction version of the original. It's called A Bench On The Beach. I sincerely hope that one or the other of these books will help someone deal with the tragedy of loss of a loved one. Meanwhile I dedicate this posting to my blog to Mike Lee, my husband in Heaven.

DECK THE HALLS

BROUGHT OUT MY COLLECTION OF ANGELS FOR MY ANGEL TREE AGAIN THIS YEAR. SUCH HAPPY MEMORIES ASSOCIATED WITH THESE BEAUTIFUL ORNAMENTS. SAD, HAPPY MEMORIES. I REMEMBER THE PAST WITH A YEARNING FOR WHAT CAN NEVER BE AGAIN. I LOOK FORWARD TO THE FUTURE, TO THIS CHRISTMAS WITH GREAT EXPECTATIONS FOR A NEW BEGINNING.
I AM TRYING TO FINISH MY LATEST NOVEL, "A GOOD CATCH," AND JUST NEED TO COMPLETE THE END OF THE LAST CHAPTER. IT DEALS WITH NEW BEGINNINGS. I AM HAVING A LITTLE BIT TROUBLE WRITING THAT HAPPY ENDING. I WONDER WHY.
