A woman who recently purchased "A Good Catch" at my first booksigning, read the review in the Sun Herald and drove to the Bay in a storm to get it. She had lost two husbands and was lonely. "We have to go on living,"she said."My children don't understand." With those words, I thought I had found my audience for the book. Women over forty who had lost a husband, partner, companion and who wanted to get on with their lives. Woman who wanted to laugh again. Then, a young woman told me how much she really enjoyed the book. Her mother had suffered a loss and was trying to find a reason to go on. Another young woman told me what a great "play" the book would make. What I learned from the feedback I've received regarding the book is this. This is a book of hope, of looking forward to the future no matter how old you are. And the search for love may be heartbreaking, but it's also fun and exciting no matter what your age.
